What's worst, an ugly pair of Balenciagas or an even uglier pair of Louboutins?
My question this week is, is it possible to do an ugly shoe vs an ugly shoe when the shoes in question are designer? Damn straight you can! Just look at these shoe nightmares! Designers are often unabashed when it comes to designing odd looking contraptions for our feet, and they expect us to go ga ga over just because their names are attached. But these shoe nightmares from two big design houses are just taking the biscuit, crumbling it then throwing it back in our faces. First up are a pair of Christian Louboutin wedges...
Normally the shoe designer of choice, I don't expect the velvet straps and weird embroidered heel to be going down any red carpet soon. Their equally colourful contenders are Transformer-esque Balenciaga heels, a label that can make the hell out of a handbag but seem to have a bit of a mental block when it comes to wearable shoes. In fairness the colours give them a sense of fun but mostly I'm just scared of them. So how about you? If you were forced to wear either of these out (and let's try to imagine wearing them with a skirt or a dress, pants people) which would it be; the Louboutins available at Bluefly for $548 or the Balenciagas which, despite the fact that I can't find a place to puchase them, apparently retail at $4175!
