Accessorize excel with their roaring '40s Mary Janes

accessorizemjs.jpgAs a great fan of vintage shoes, particularly those from the '30s and '40s, it's a joy to find that high street stores are producing styles that wouldn't look out of place in these eras! Case in point, these demure, but beautiful Mary Janes from Accessorize, for £40. With their low heel and versatile chocolate leather, they're terribly practical; but sequins and brogue detailing ensure that they'll be a timeless and stylish addition to your shoedrobe (What? Doesn't everyone have a wardrobe just for shoes?). Pair them with tights, a classic dress and a sophisticated but utilitarian handbag, and you're set for autumn!

Great find...I design and make custom made shoes. Vintage fashion is a constant inspiration. These shoes are tremendously versatile, stylish, yet, unpretentious while being practical and affordable. You have a great eye!

Thank you, Gerald. Sounds like you have an excellent eye yourself ;)

Do you have a website showcasing any of your designs / shoes? It's unusual to see custom made shoes these days, and I'm sure our readers would love to have a sticky beak!

Thank you for the compliment, Erin. I should have a website up in in a couple months with sketches, photos, and ordering info. Presently, I'm completing orders for Couture boots for the fall. I also work as an industrial designer, so time is a bit tight at the moment. Send me your email address and let's keep in touch...Also, you can send me your shoe size and colour/style preference and your likes and dislikes fashion wise. When my schedule clears up a bit I can send you a sketch or two that may meet your liking--Take care.

Hi Gerald,

Can I jump on the bandwagon too? I'd like to pick your brain about designing as I would like to do a line too. But I like to buy as well and would love to see your sketches.

Drop me a line through my site.
