Do you budget for designer must haves, or is foot fashion left to covet?

louboutins-again.jpgWhen I see a pair of designer shoes that cost a packet on Shoewawa, often the comments from our lovely readers are from people who love the shoes, but have no of actually buying them. So who really splurges on these beautiful things? It's a known fact that many a celebrity girl loves her Louboutins, but do we high street junkies join in? And if so, how?

Take these Christian Louboutin Emily boots for example, much written about and the cause of a huge divide in opinion. How many of us will really save up the £520 pre-order price from Net-a-Porter in order to be the first girl you know with a pair? I know I wouldn't. Despite my adoration for hundreds of pairs of designer shoes, my budget just doesn't tend to stretch that far, and so they're left as something I lust after, never to be seen upon my little feet.

So tell me, girls - do you work your bum off for designerwear, or is it something you're left to emulate and covet for ever more?

I do buy expensive designer shoes...in classic styles. I have Manolos, Jimmy Choos, Chanel, and a few others that I know will be in style for years. For the trendy styles that come and go quickly, I buy cheaper versions.

I will pay up for expensive shoes I love...especially ones that are different. I take good care of them and keep them for ages. I have a pair of striped Patrick Cox wedges that people go crazy over whenever I wear them...I've had them for 15 years. I find the wilder shoes make the best investments and just grow more alluring over the years.

i don't own anything really expensive (yet :)) but i share the opinions of the posters above: quality, beautiful & timeless shoes = worth the investment; trendy shoes = more on the cheap side... (as long as they don't look and are made "too cheap"...).
about the controversial shoes of the example, i really like the design but are not the best example of lasting shoes because are tooooo trendy, so wouldn't wear them too much (also, my feet would not stand them too much, nor my wardrobe have really much options with them). these are pretty much of wearing them 5 times as much and 520 pounds is toooo much (and couldn't afford!!) for such a little whim. i expect Zara to sell similar ones next season :P

I tend to focus my spending on shoes, so I like to buy designer shoes when I can. But they have to be really special and unique to make me jump. I also don't discriminate - if I like a shoe, it doesn't matter if its from Target or are Louboutins.

I would love to get these Emily shoes (but the version with the grey). I think they would look good forever. I think the biggest splurge I made was for the nude Louboutins with the Swarovski heels that you featured on here earlier in the year. They were worth the big price! Gorgeous. You can also see them on my site too.

Like Wendy said - if you take care of them and they aren't too trendy, they can be in your wardrobe for years.
