Guiseppe Zanotti's satin and patent heels. Who knew burgundy could be so beautiful?

zanotti-burgandy-shoes.jpg I tend to avoid burgundy when I'm buying shoes - or anything else, for that matter. I've always thought there was something a little old-fashioned and "bridesmaid-like" about it, but clearly I have been doing burgundy a disservice. With these two part patent heels , Guiseppe Zanotti has made burgundy a thing of beauty. Of course, he's calling it "Bordeaux", but let's not quibble over that: the contrast between the parent leather and satin vamp is exquisite, and I can even live with the ankle strap, as it balances out the chunkiness of the front. These may look like pumps, but that giant bow actually conceals a little peep toe - choose the "multi view" option on the website to see it properly. They're $598.95.
