Jessica Simpson's Berg heels - an updated classic or a twist too far?

Jessica Simpson might be one of the most useless celebrities out there (in my opinion) but she seems to be well on her way to being taken seriously as a shoe designer. Whether she truly designs them herself is another matter...

These Berg heels from Ms Simpson really stood out to me when browsing her newest ranges and I can't help but wonder if they're suffering somewhat from trying to be too original. While the basic shoe is really fantastic with rounded toes, stiletto heels and an eye-catching electric blue, I don't know quite what is going on with that band detail. Maybe it's the material, but it just doesn't fit with the rest of the shoe to me. What's your opinion? If you love this twist then you can get yours from Shoes.com for a very reasonable $79.99.
