Learn some trainer lacing techniques for smarter trainers

tainerlacer.jpg

If you're going to be wearing trainers, take a tip from our fabulous men's blog, Brandish, and at least learn how to lace them up properly. Brandish has been talking today about Ian Fieggen's shoe lacing techniques, which have all kinds of interesting-sounding names like "The Bushwalk" and "The Zipper" which sound like they might be painful, but are actually easy ways to funk up your trainers. Easy when you know how, of course, so head over to Ian's Shoelace site for the instructions...

What I want to know is, if you want to wear trainers with shorts or a skirt, what do you do with the extra? Looks silly tied in a huge bow....

Lily I usually tie them behind the tongue and tuck the ends into the shoe itself. It looks supremely uncool otherwise, I agree! It's easiest done if you swap your laces for ones that aren't overlong and make sure you knot them so they don't go flying off!! Either that or lace them so that they are inside on the last eyelet and knot each lace on the inside.

thanks to this article, i, a busy college student, just wasted 15 minutes of my time relacing my shoes. i discovered this site a few days ago and have been reading the "heels" section since then. i have fallen in love several times and now have an entirely different outlook on life. i love shoes!
