Michael Kors Carina - shoes that make me say "Why?"

MKX03BT_mn.jpgWe don't often write about sneakers or trainers or whatever they're called on Shoewawa, but when a designer offers their take on the field I can't help it. Usually I'm pretty impressed by Michael Kors' ideas, but these Carina patent sneakers have left me wondering what on earth he was thinking.

You might be looking at them thinking, what's the big deal? Well, who on earth wants patent trainers? It's certainly peculiar. Taking the shoe shape mastered by Vans and Keds, Kors does little to spice up this new idea either, leaving it both bizarre and yet uninspiring. Do you disagree? If this is the shoe you've been waiting for then get yours from the Michael Kors website for $79

Since Vans and Keds (and many others) are resurging in popularity, I guess Michael Kors' staff felt they needed to provide the high end market with a designer alternative. This one misses the mark completely...it lacks the comfortable, classic, and shabby chicness of the Keds.
