Olivia Morris 'Devi' brogue boots, available at Net a Porter

devi3.JPG I'm interested to know what you make of these 'Devi' brogue boots by Olivia Morris. I started off by absolutely loving them, but despite the fact that the Net-a-Porter website tips brogue detailing as a big trend next season, I still can't quite get my head around it. Having said that, I love the steel grey colour and the contrasting black details such as the chunky heel, and can definitely imagine heads turning as I stride through the rain in a gorgeous black mac and jeans. What do you think?

nice, but too trendy to survive more than one season, in my opinion. and for 787€, it's the least i would expect of them xD

I love them and I love the scenario you picture, but how else would you wear them? I think they would be too much for a dress.

The price does make them a bit off-putting.

I love them and don't think they're one-season items. Why should they be? I've got shoes that are 10 years old. Keep 'em two years and then they're vintage and everyone wants to know where you got them.

I thinkthese are the type of boots I would start liking more and more each time I wore them until they were the item I planned each outfit around!

Jeans and a black mac sounds great, I think I'd also try them with short pencil or pleated skirts in bright colours like coral or emerald, and layers of shirts, sweaters, and blazers in different shades of grays, and whites and blacks.

Really liking these. I find them part brogue with a hint of doiley about them at the top of the shaft. Lovely colour and contrast. Lack of a zipper and perhaps stiff leather upper though might give them a 'wellie' type vibe when on.. Well worth a try though - if you could afford it (!)

i semi-adore them. i def. agree that they could span more than a single season and to me they've got a mildly equestrian feel with all the perks of antiquity. i'm not sure what a "mac" is, but they could work with jeans. in my head, i'm picturing them as the focal point of an outfit with a understated skirt (more volume than a pencil, less than a full a-line), a nice cotton tee with some rouching about the collar and a lovely little cardigan. it'd make for a pretty classic look, but the boots would add a much needed update and a fine dash of spicy juxtaposition.

They've sold out in my size, so I'll never know! Shame, cos I'd set my heart on them. Rubex
