Prada design special birthday shoes for Neiman Marcus
Now, why don't I ever get birthday presents like this, I wonder? Well, possibly because I'm not one of the US's biggest departments stores, I guess: Neiman Marcus is, though, and as the store will be celebrating its 100 birthday later this year, it's going to be getting some pretty fancy presents. This is good news for Neiman Marcus, but it's also good news for shoe fans, because Prada are among a range of designers who have created a special "birthday" collection in honour of the occasion.
Prada will be supplying Neiman Marcus with birthday clothes, bags, and, of course, shoes. The shoes will all come with heel or sole plates bearing the logo "Prada for Neiman Marcus, 1907 - 2007" and are set to become instant collectors items. I'd imagine only serious collectors will be buying them, though: prices will start from $995 for the most casual styles, and go up to $4,500 for a pair of crocodile pumps. The range will be available this autumn, with some items available in all stores and others only at select locations.
