I know that for most people, the outfit (a pretty dress, for example) is the focus and then the shoes just need to be nice and match. For me however, shoes often come before the rest of the outfit, which is why I adore these 'Buttercup Silk' sandals from Tagbo. The colours (brown satin ribbon and what can only be described as a creamy-fudge) probably wouldn't work on me due to my permanent lack of tan and general ghostly appearance, but if you're a fan they're available in a huge range of sizes from UK 2-10. They practically look like dress material themselves, but in shoe form! What could be better?!
