Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay92.jpgIf last week's Yay or Nay was anything to go by, it seems that the block colour trend is a little controversial! While Miu Miu's brogue-detailed ballet flats won the Yay vote by a nose, a few were a little dubious about the choice of colours and the ruched heel. If you weren't among them, you can pick yours up for £205 from Net-A-Porter.

Now, you'll be well aware that Mary Janes are among the most popular of styles here at Shiny Towers, but what of this unusual pair? Heavily embellished with rivets and studs, they're certainly not your run-of-the-mill, girly offering. But what do you think: are they super studly or glaringly grotesque? Yay or Nay and why?

mhmm there's something rude about these. the squared studdings are also distributed in a squared pattern. the shape itself is quite normal and without decorations would be a rather dull, "politically correct" model, but with some nice twist they could be absolute winners, i think. also i cannot envision these in any type of outfit, not even for Goth Lolitas...
a "sad" Nay as they could have been pretty...

Yay! They're just punky enough w/o being obnoxiously so. And the mary jane styling lends a bit of girlyness to it.

Well, I think this one is a Nay. The stud embellishments would probably work on a biker chic inspired boot, but it's too much for a flat. If you asked your readers to guess the designer, there are very few folks who would know that these are Miu Miu's. These shoes seem out of line with the usual elegance and jawdropping beauty that most Miu Miu's have, especially when it comes to flats and sandals.

they remind me of something on sale at hot topic...nay!

The conservativeness of the black flat mary-jane aspect of them is warring with the craziness of the studs. I'm all for giving a twist to a classic, but this takes it too far and the shoe ends up clashing with itself, if that's even possible.

Nay from me.

I just don't like studs and rivets - or at least, I have yet to see a use of studs and rivets that I like. This isn't it.

I'll say nay.

Nay. If the studs were just a little bit smaller the shoes would be cute, but as they are I don't like them.

Yay! I love anything with studs and rivets, and I love a Mary Jane. I think they would add interest to a bland jeans and t-shirt outfit.

Nay. They're flat! The shoe's aren't mental enough to take the studdage.
