Are you a flats girl, or do you prefer skyscraper heels at heart?

flatheel.bmp

Lucy Hulme asks...

Aside from the obvious practicalities of sometimes wearing flats (i.e. if you have a one and a half mile walk home) or heels (i.e. if you're going on a date with someone who is 6 ft 7" tall), most of the shoe lovers I know have a clear preference between the two.

Personally, I'm without a doubt a heels girl. Flats are great for many things and can often be incredibly comfortable, but there's nothing like the feeling of slipping on a gorgeous LBD and hiking up your height by three or four inches, to really feel ready to go out and enjoy yourself. Sadly I've yet to find the holy grail, but I live in hope that one day I will find myself a luxuriously comfortable pair of stiletto heels.

Which do you prefer?

Heels all the way. I own many pairs of flats and love them lots but for nights out and feeling special it has to be some stilettos. Hoorah for sexiness!

Heels for sure.

Oh, please, give me heels anyday! I love what they do for the shape of my leg, I can admire my suddenly dainty-looking size 8's in spare moments at work...
Flats all look like shapeless flippers to me. Actually, I like flats - until I put them on my foot! Maybe I've worn heels TOO much, but flats make my (relatively long/thin) legs look dumpy and squat.

Definitely heels. I have a bunch of flats and I grew up on sensible shoes (I get an earful from my mom every time I buy heels) but no matter how many cute ballet flats I try on they look horribly dumb on me.
I'm a short plus size girl so heels definitely look so much better. And there's just that feeling of slipping on a pair of stilettos and strutting around.

Do you really know Shoesaholic that prefer Flats? I don't. Of course I'm small so maybe it explain things but still...
When you put on heels it's like you're finally yourself and I agree it's better for my legs too (big calves : Tennis fault).
I really try ballet flat I even buy some but I can't wear them, it just doesn't fit. But heels they are always welcomed...and you look so must stylish.
I wish time will come when heels will be as comfortable as flats...Yes, I know I'm a dreamer

Flats, flats, flats. Perhaps it's because my daily commute *is* a mile, and public transit in the suburbs of the US is worthless, or maybe it's because at 5'8" I'm already half a foot taller than most of the girls at my office, but the shoes I drool over tend to be flats, like the gorgeous purple snake-embossed pair from Nordstrom that will be mine.

I can walk in heels if I must, and for a lot of the past year and a half I did, but I came back to the more comfortable flats - which have more stylish options than ever.

Heels, for everything, higher the better! I can barely walk in flats actually, my feet just don't like them.

Heeeeeeeeeeels! I wear flats, but I never feel as sexy in them as I do in heels.

I'd love to love heels, unfortunately I have terrible, terrible feet and am unable to wear anything higher than half an inch and thats only if it has a wide base. I would KILL to be able to wear heels. Seriously if there was a way to suck the heel wearing ability out of another human I would.

heels all the way! i can quite happily wear 5 inch stilettos walking all day then change into another pair of heels for a night out!! then again i have been wearing them since i was 13, my feet are just well trained now!
