Italo Balestri's Strappy Peep pumps rub me up the wrong way

I've never come across ItaloBalestri's designs before, and if this first offering I've seen is anything to go by, we aren't going to get along.

I can't decide what I make of this pair, in all honesty, but I know they aren't worthy of purchase in my eyes. Maybe it's that confusing caramel leather colour, or maybe it's the mid heel and long vamp section. Something about them spells old lady to me, but maybe I'm wrong. Tell me why if you love this pair. And buy some from Foot Candy for $315.
