Trend alert: Wearing long gray socks with tall boots, as demonstrated by Lindsay Lohan

I'd forgotten all about the socks-under-boots photo of Lindsay that I saved on my hard drive months ago - I remember thinking that the flash of thigh here is sexier than a great many looks Lilo has sported over the years. Then Shopbop came out with a "how to wear boots" spread that included this shot of the Coclico Boot (US$445) and gray socks. Thereafter, I just had to dig out the Lilo snapshot. The grays socks peeking out adds cohesion to the overall look - it pulls the flowing tunic together with the dark brown boots, and Lilo is smart not to busy up her outfit like the Shopbop model did. Very casual, yet eye catching.
