Artist Nikos Floros makes shoes out of beer cans

I've often wished I could make my own shoes - I mean, just think of the money it would save! - but this wasn't quite what I had in mind...

These are by artists Nikos Floros, and if you look carefully, you'll see that the shoes are actually made out of old beer and soft drink cans, with the "buckle" fashioned from a ring-pull. Destined never to be worn - I doubt even the most hardened of high heel fans could bear the feel of cold metal against their feet for long - they're part of an exhibition which also includes a corset and ball gown (both made from drinks cans) which is on display in Athens. There are lots more pictures over at Team Sugar - I'm in pain just from looking at some of them!
