Do you wear footsies with your court shoes?

footsies.jpg The weather isn't quite warm enough these days for bare feet in court shoes, but when it is, I know lots of women prefer to wear something like Footsies rather than leaving their feet completely bare.

While I can see that Footsie's are a good idea in that they'll stop your feet from sweating too much, and hopefully make your shoes feel more comfortable, I've just never been able to get along with them. Either I've been buying the wrong kind of shoes or the wrong kind of Footsies (the ones in the picture are £2.50 from Marks and Spencer), but no matter what I do, the tights always seem to end up showing above the edge of my toes - definitely not a good look.

What does everyone else think of these? Do you wear them, or do you prefer to go barefoot?

You ran a blog a while ago about little lace ones of these from a company that have a shop in Covent garden but also do postal orders (for get their name) - they are really popular and cheap in Japan but about £5 a pop here. I got loads as they are so pretty and come in different colours and look fine over the shoes

It's a bit trial and error with footsies.
After trying loads from different shops i've found that New Look do the best ones, but they aren't that consistent. Some fit perfectly and you can't see them and others are uncomfortable and look stupid.
I use them in spring/autumn, it's way too cold in winter, i have to wear tights then!

I gave up wearing them after they just kept pinging off from the heel and ending up bunched up under my foot - really annoying! I'm a size 8 yet these things - and most other socks - are always for 'size 4-7'...why can't they just make them a teensy bit bigger? Size 8 is not that freakish and uncommon you know!

Never. You can almost always see them. The toe caps are better - much more discreet.

I wear them with my low-fronted trainers to stop the fabric inners getting smelly. They work like a charm and keep my tootsies warm. I think mine were from Tesco and they must have been reasonably priced, because I bought them. I don't think I own any heels that I would wear them with - being a student, all mine are of the crazy statement variety, not the everyday work kind.

I have the same problem as Paula -- they pop off my heel and bunch up under the foot. No good! Die, footsies, die!

I can't stand footsies, I prefer to wear trouser socks with my trousers or tights with my skirts -- around here you can't go bare-legged after September 1st anyways!
