Marc Jacobs' sureal shoes branded "dangerous"

surreal-shoes.jpgThe surreal, reverse-heel shoes Marc Jacobs showed at New York Fashion Week last month have certainly got everyone talking (which is probably what Mr. Jacobs intended). Unfortunately, most people have been talking about how dangerous they are, with criticism centering around the lack of support for the heel, meaning that the centre of balance is somewhere under the arch of the foot.

"They are absurd, torturous, dangerous and wearable only by women who never have to walk further than the nearest red carpet and have more money than sense," says Erin Kelly of the Daily Mail, who adds that she expects to see Victoria Beckham in a pair any day now. They're also not cheap, with prices starting at £270. My question then, is: would you wear these shoes?

I wouldn't wear these due to the fact that they're hideous. However, I do wear some shoes which are probably a darn sight more dangerous than these.

YES!!! I would! They remind me of my United Nude pumps which are incredibly comfortable from the slight bounce that it gives because of teh shape. If made correctly, it is just another way to place the heel to support the foot, and shouldnt be uncomfortable. Many designers have experiemented with the "missing heel" look, why is it only now that marc jacobs has done it that people care. Give it a chance. I did with my UN shoes, and they are marvelous.

I have an Irregular Choice pair, where the heel is under the arch of the middle of your foot. They are incredibly comfortable and honestly you wouldn't know that you are perched on such a fragile looking heel, you can walk around without worry, they just feel like a regular heel.
