More shoes without heels, this time on the Antonio Berardi catwalk

heelless-shoes.jpg I'm definitely seeing a trend starting to emerge here, and it's a rather worrying one: shoes without heels - or, at least, without heels in the places we'd normally expect to see them. Marc Jacobs' surreal shoes fall into the second category, and regardless of what you think of them, at least they have a heel of sorts. The ones in the picture above, though, spotted on the Antonio Berardi catwalk at Paris Fashion Week, have no such support. Instead, the wearer is expected to balance on the ball of the foot - and on top of a chunky platform! Well, I guess it'll do wonders for your balance, but maybe not quite as much for your posture or safety - what does everyone else think?

I think with all the pressure on the ball of the foot, you'd be in major pain in about 5 minutes. It's interesting to look at though!

i dnt envy the models having to learn how to walk on these shoes then having to walk down a runway without falling over! lol

That's just ridiculous! It looks painful.

these really do look like the ultimate catwalk shoe - they make a statement, yet they only have to be worn for a few mins to walk a few metres!

you are too old to be blogging about shoes when you value ugly 80's look slouchy boots as good, and crazy, innovative shoes as bad.

Do you think they hate women that much to make them wear these things? OK it's innovative but I think they'd be better in a museum!

I think those shoes with out the heels are a waste of time, people would probably only wear them once and then decide that they are rubbish because you can't walk comfortably in them for over 5 minutes.

We thought about this for a while and realise that it would be no more painful than walking with normal heels, the only difference is that you would have to walk toe heel instead of heel to toe.
The Pressure is also spread out as what you are forgetting is the support on the arch of the foot.
Back to Lisa comment, you may think they are a waste of time but then so is every piece of shoe or clothing. If we all thought like that then we would more or less all be wearing a sack. It does the job of covering us up.
We think they look really good and surreal.

These platform shoes with no-heel are so cute ... !
I'm not surprised Victoria B. or Gwineth P. bought a pair. And there is no reason they will not wear them !
Because they are wearable. You aren't sure of that ? I'M.
Antonio Berardi had created high heel-less shoes for 2 collections on 2008 :
High heel-less sandals for Spring08 catwalks... and heel-less boots for Fall08-09.
All the models were walking very well, and nobody fell down.
Thank's M. Berardi for these beautiful shoes!
