Everything changes with the muk.luk.flux boots
I'm all in favour of tech and shoes merging, as anything that increases comfort while remaining stylish gets thumbs up in my books, but I'm just not sure about this latest venture. The unappetizing titled muk.luk.flux shoes actually look fairly cute in a Jetson-meets-Space-Invaders sorta way, but they also remind me of those fluffy rave boots from my youth.
The thing is, they change shape based on the speed of motion of the wearer. Here's the science part: 'By drawing an analogy between representations of mechanical movement in contrast to bodily gesture, they mock the notion of the 'machine aesthetic'. An accelerometer in the boots tracks the wearer's speed and, when in motion, the boots expand into their 'engaged' position using a system of mechanical actuators in the structure of the boots.' Umm, OK. No word on price as yet, so I guess they're still in the concept stage.

I don't get it. It just looks like a shoe with a lot of flappy things on it to me.
But, I'd love to be wrong about this and for it to be explained to me.
