New Look wins 'Best Shoes' category at the Company High Street Fashion Awards. What do you think of their shoes?

I have to admit to owning more than my fair share of New Look shoes, so the news that the company has won the 'Best Shoes' category at the Company High Street Fashion awards didn't come as much of a surprise to me.

With prices generally remaining between £15 - £25 for shoes (and just a little more for boots), and styles that are heavily influenced by the catwalk, in terms of value for money, New Look is hard to beat, and if the shoes don't last for more than a couple of seasons, well, they're not really meant to. (Although, to be fair, most of my New Look purchases have lasted much longer than that). Another big point in their favour is the constantly-changing selection: they seem to manage to always keep up with fashion, and a lot of the shoes are made from leather, which makes the low prices even more remarkable.

What does everyone else think of New Look's shoes? Was their award at the High Street Fashion Awards justified?

i love new look shoes...they are quite painful on the first few wears but after that they are ok and last for ages. and the prices are good, even the leather boots are only £40-£50

New Look shoes are great. I have a pair of black peep-toes and they have lasted ages. Its a great place to get shoes that are in season as even if you only wear them twice you have got your moneys worth. Award was well deserved in my opinion.

I have New Look shoes that cost £20 and are in better shape and condition than Office shoes that cost £55. Their designs are a bit hit and miss but I also have a fabulous pair of black and white peeptoes that I get complimented for every time I use them. I actually just got a pair of silver peeptoes during my lunch break. They look really funky and sexy and, despite the 9cm heel, are very comfy.

Go New Look!

The only complaint I have is that their website is very poor and only shows about 2 pairs of shoes. Why??

I love New Look shoes, i agree with Regina that their webbie is PANTS but as they're a 5 minute walk from the office I can go and look at them whenever I want, not such a great thing for my pay cheque or my boyfriend but great for me :o)

New Look shoes are wicked, I bought a Christian Louboutin lookalike pair for £30 they are gorgeous! They always seem to have the latest trendy shoes, hurray ;)

I adore New Look shoes. They make a really small size 3 which fits me like it's tailor made. I find them really really comfy too, and the price doesn't half help.

Most of mine are knackered but that's due to wearing them to death.

I work at New Look and absolutely love the shoes. I get staff discount as well which is 50% and so i just can't help myself sometimes.

I absolutely love New Look shoes, they are chic, yet the prices are cheaper than most high street stores. Last week I managed to buy a discounted aubergine coloured ballet flats at £5, looks so flattering!

The best thing with shoe shopping in New Look is that it is self-serviced, all the shoes are on the shelves already, and you can try as many shoes as you like :)

I hate to be the lone dissenting voice, but I really don't like New Look shoes.. They may be made out of leather (well, some of them!) but they still look plasticky and a bit cheap to me. Especially their range of 'red soled' ones... anyone who knows that Louboutin uses a red sole is going to know that those ain't them.

I'm really sad that Ravel has shut down, as they had a good compromise between quality (the only comfortable heels I own!) and price....especially during their frequent and massive sales!

I spoke to New Look head office today (as I'm trying to find a pair of Tansy lime green shoes from their shoe heaven range but they seem to be all sold out *sob*) and they told me that the website would be transactional by Christmas - YAY!!!
