Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay99.jpgIt's been some time since a pair of shoes had our readers split down the middle, but that's exactly what last week's Yay or Nay did. While half of you loved the cut-out brogues (I particularly liked the description "Saville-Row-serious without the stuffiness" from StyleScrybe!), while the rest thought they were more trouble than trendy. For those of you who'd like a pair, they're by Solea, and are available from ASOS for £120.

This week, we're testing out one of Shoewawa's favourite styles: the Mary Jane! Of course, this design is a little different; taking a tricky turn on the button trend by placing it on the toe! But what do you think? Does it enhance a firm favourite or have they just been playing silly buggers? Yay or Nay and why?

yay. not a big-huge-YAY! yay, but a yay nonetheless. i like anything patent so thats a tick, plus the colour stands out, the heel is a great easy height and the button adds just enough kitsch

Dunno why, but this shoe looks like the offspring of Dorothy's ruby-reds and the Oompa Loompas's round-thingie-topped slippers. Gonna have to go with "NAY" on this one.

yay! these are adorable, and you could wear them with anything (think dresses and grey tights or jeans). i think they're just great.

Nay. They have "been playing silly buggers". The button addition on the toe brings nothing whatsoever to the style. I would buy the shoes and clip the button off.

Nay. For some reason they vaguely remind me of clown shoes.

Nay. Granny shoes/sensible/boring/bloooaagh.

Nay, they look kinda cheap in that shiny red leather with that plastic round thingy on.

Nay!! It looks like there is an unwanted smartie on the shoe! lol

Nay. I *want* to like them, but there's something about them that's holding me back...
