Manolo Blahnik receives CBE from the Queen
He's already recognised by Shoewawa for his services to shoes, but Manolo Blahnik has also been recognised by the Queen, receiving an Honorary CBE (Commander of the British Empire) at a ceremony last week.
The award was given "in recognition of his status as one of the most successful and influential designers of our time" and was presented by Culture secretary James Purnell, who said: "Manolo Blahnik is one of only a handful of designers whose name is synonymous with their product. His avant garde designs mixed with timeless classics ensure that women all over the world are desperate to get their hands on a pair of Manolos." Hear hear!
