Sude and leather contrast wedge heel shoes by ASOS Premium in black and gold

If ever there was a a pair of shoes that made me want to take a pair of scissors to them, these shoes by ASOS Premium would be the ones. Not, I hasten to add, because I don't like them: on the contrary, I think the combination of gold leather and black suede looks luxurious and striking, and the shape is lovely, too. No, it's that ankle strap. When you look at the picture of the shoe on its own, the ankle strap looks like it's just begging to be snipped off - although I have to concede that it looks an awful lot better on the model. What do you think? Ankle strap or none?
