Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay102.jpgI almost feel a little bad for last week's Yay or Nay offering, what with the outcry of 'ughs!' and 'eews!' that they elicited. If, however, you were one of the fashion forward ladies who saw potential in Vanessa Bruno's suede booties, they're $615 at Shopbop.

This week's offering is more than a little Chloe-esque, with its thick, metal-tipped heel. Its thick cuff and brass button details help to make them look a bit like a nautical uniform; but we'd like to know what you think. Does it float your boat, or is it destined for Davy Jones' locker? Yay or Nay and why?

Nay. I'm just not down with the ankle cuff, and I think the Chloe style heel has been done to death now.

Big "Nay." They are graceless and would be completely unflattering.

Nay, because if I had to wear these, I'd let them peep out under long trousers which makes the ankle bit rather pointless. To show the ankle bit by wearing cropped trousers ot a skirt would look pretty tragic regardless of what your legs are like.

I'll dissent and say YAY! The wide cuff should cover the actual ankle, making the narrowest portion of your lower leg the focal point.
Plus, the wide cuff-strap is just different enough from a regular, easily-found mary jane that people will stop and take notice.
I'd wear it with a below-the-knee pencil skirt and 50's sweater.

tried these on i have small ish feet about a 4 but the display one was a five and by NO way i have 'fat' ankles and the strap would no where NEAR fasten the only size i could get to fasten properly was a 7
that being said im on the yay team they look really good under skinny jeans :)

If they actually fit me I think the effect would be more "my feet are pastde on yay!" than anything else.

I like them. I like the ankle cuff. Yay!

At first glance, I thought they looked too clunky for my tastes, but after looking at them one more time, I have to say Yay. I think with the right outfit, they could really look good. I like the sort of military-esque cuff style, and the semi-pointy, semi-rounded toe.

nay. I agree with Amber - the steel heel has been overdone, and i reallllly don't like the ankle strap :S
