D&G Dolce & Gabbana satin and metallic leather pumps

dgstiletto.jpg
Dolce & Gabbana have been doing some sterling work in the shoe line recently, and if these high heeled court shoes have a bit of an 80s vibe about them, it's easy enough to forgive them for it when you consider the mix of gold leather and satin, to say nothing of the subtle bow on the toe. I could live without the metal tip on the heel, which I always feel cheapens a shoe a little, but I could very happily live with everything else. They're $410.

Why on earth does the metal tip cheapen the shoe?
The original stilettos in the 50's had metal tips and it’s metal tips that give the shoes their aggressive edge; - the inner tigress's claws as it were, - seemingly slender and feminine but with the power to destroy! One of the main allures of stilettos is also the tip tap of the approaching heels that demand to be noticed.
