Well, River Island certainly got the description of these shoes right, didn't they? They've called them "giant platform", and it's hard to argue with them: it is, indeed, a platform that will add at least a few inches to your height, and I'm all for that. I'm also all for the mix of gold and black used on the uppers here: yes, we've seen it all before, but this particular look is one that I just never seem to get tired of.
