Panel vintage boots from New Look
I have a version of these New Look boots which have a slightly different pattern on the side, and since I bought them, they have rarely left my feet. The top is wide enough to wear over jeans but slim enough to wear over tights or leggings, the heel is high enough to be flattering but low enough to walk in, and the general shape is causal-but-dressy, meaning you can dress them up or down as required. So, basically, what I'm trying to say is: these boots are pretty darn versatile. They're also pretty darn affordable, too, at £45 - thank goodness New Look has finally started selling online!
