Shoewawa Preview: Faith Spring/Summer 2008

Be prepared to be excited, very excited as I invite you to feast you eyes on this phantasmagorical collection of shoes that would make Cinderella proud. I love this patent black, white and red Mary Jane shoe and envisage it looking gorgeous with oh so many outfits. Indeed, Faith has done us proud this year with their stunning collection of gorgeous shoes, from Mary Janes to summery sandals there is something for everyone.

I love the use of different materials on these shoes, from the slinky gold crossover straps to the more staid two tone lace ups, and think they'd be great, be it office or party time.

These summery sandals inject a hint of whimsy to any outfit with the satin sheen and rhinestones being oh so glam and the floral prints and wooden heels being comfy and quirky.

The above shoes are what we call statement shoes, or catwalk wannabes. From oversized heels to strange soles and interesting use of fetish straps and patent we have here some hot to trot shoes, but not ones to be worn lightly. If you're a top end fashionista you'll revel in the raised eyebrows these will get, but if you're more a high street honey (like me) you'll go for the simplified but still sexy versions above.

They're not all elegant, - quirky rarely equates with elegance. They may be fashionable, but fashion isn't always elegant because sometimes fashion deliberately chooses to be controversial.

However, a quick scan of the above tells me they are all sexy; and on that subject, why are you ladies so coy about using the 's' word? If a high-heeled shoe doesn't make men notice you, then it really isn't working. However, don't expect those men to admit it as most are either unable to understand why inanimate objects of bits of leather, plastic and steel should make a woman more visually attractive or are too embarrassed to admit it.

The very top red and black almost D'Orsay court shoe/pump with the white Mary Jane instep strap is hardly a sandal, but it is elegant and is an instant turn-on. I am left wondering what the heels would feel like on the back of my thighs!
