I'm always a little suspicious of boots that have cut-out details like slingbacks or (God forbid!) peep toes. They seem to defeat the true purpose of boots, which is surely to keep your feet warm and dry, and while I'm not advocating that we all start wearing purely functional footwear in order to achieve this objective, I still can't quite get on board with the slingback ankle boot, of which this version by ASOS is a prime example. That said, the boot is otherwise quite striking, with its curved heel and pointed toe: Sienna Miller certainly seems to think so, anyway - these are apparently "inspired" by a similar pair that she was photographed wearing not so long ago.
