Chloe's platform wedge pumps with lucite accent

chloewedge2.jpgIt's hard to tell from this picture, but these are no ordinary wooden heeled wedges. No, if you look closely, you'll see that the heel is backed with a clear, Lucite strip. Why is it there? Well, I'm not sure, to be honest: it creates a rather odd mix of modern and traditional, and it doesn't really add anything to the shoe. Then again, it doesn't exactly detract much from it either, so I think I could probably live with it. These will be a little too chunky for some, but Chloe are one of the few design houses who can do chunky shoes well. I'm imagining these with a pair of wide-leg jeans and a checked shirt, for a simple, summer look. Get them at Saks Fifth Avenue.

I saw these in the latest issue of Glamour...I think they look a lot bigger in this picture, the one in the magazine seemed to do them more justice. I liked the way they were teamed up with a yellow see-through dress :D
