It's hard to tell from this picture, but these are no ordinary wooden heeled wedges. No, if you look closely, you'll see that the heel is backed with a clear, Lucite strip. Why is it there? Well, I'm not sure, to be honest: it creates a rather odd mix of modern and traditional, and it doesn't really add anything to the shoe. Then again, it doesn't exactly detract much from it either, so I think I could probably live with it. These will be a little too chunky for some, but Chloe are one of the few design houses who can do chunky shoes well. I'm imagining these with a pair of wide-leg jeans and a checked shirt, for a simple, summer look. Get them at Saks Fifth Avenue.
