Couture Shoes: Chanel, Spring 2008

chanel-couture.jpg

Dior may have gone for the highest of high heels at their Couture catwalk show yesterday in Paris, but Chanel decided to take the opposite direction, sending their models down the runway in the flattest of flats. The shoes used in the show were all Mary Jane style, with the only differences being the materials used, which ranged from classic black patent and gold canvas to perspex and jewels.

Personally, I think this flat-footed look would take a bit of getting used to for a stiletto fiend such as myself, although it does lend itself to the very classic looks shown by Chanel this week. What does everyone else think?

Like I said in the yay or nay, flats generally don't have arch support (unless you spend more money than I can afford). My high arches will stay in heels.

As far as looks go, flats can be super cute, and they can play down the sexiness of certain looks.
