Gucci get into corset-styling for Spring 2008

We showed you Gucci's "Peekaboo" boots yesterday, but now here's another couple of pieces from the Spring collection, which is heavy on black patent leather and slightly vampy detailing. These two shoes both take their inspiration from corsetry: they're the Corset HIgh Heel Sandal (right, $740) and the Corset Mid Heel Slide ($639), which is also available in white, and taps into the current trend for pink footwear with the pink laces on the side.

What does everyone think of this style? Do you love it, or do you prefer to wear your corsets on your body (if at all) rather than on your feet?

LOVE THEM!

And I am absolutely POSITIVE that I could pull these off without looking like a "Filipina hooker". (Way to interject a little sexist-racism into my favourite shoe blog...)

Maybe if one's wardrobe exuded a little bit of class, these shoes would work. But I guess not everyone can have a sense of high style.

Love them. Classy, yet with a dash of naughty. Would look killer with an LBD, or sleek waistcoat and skirt/pants look.
