Michael Kors and the Case of the Baffling Mini-wedge
Michael Kors has always been a bit hit and miss here at Shoewawa. Sometimes he gets things oh-so-right; more often? Not so much. Today's pair has me a little flummoxed. I can get on board with the pointy flat style; I don't mind the buckle detail; and I'm a big fan of patent. What bothers me is the contrasting mini-wedge sole. As a concept, I can understand the value of the 'extra half-inch'; but really? In contrasting white? In the end, I think it ruins the whole look of the shoe. At $428.95, what do you think?

You know, I can handle the mini-wedge. But, this is a 5'1" girl talking - I'll take ANY little height cushion!
But it is so completely wrong in white...SO wrong. White soles in general turn me off, but especially in a...well not exactly summery shoe. A white wedge/heel/sole just makes a possibly wearable and practical shoe impractical - can we say scuff magnet? Blah to white soles!!!

Yeah, that's weird. The wedge makes it look like a tennis shoe or a boat loafer or something else that would usually have a striped rubber sole. (In an unfortunate mating with a very nice patent dress flat.)
