Valentino bows out of fashion - but leaves us with some beautiful shoes

Last night saw Valentino host his last ever couture show, at Paris's Rodin museum, before going into retirement. At least we still have the shoes, though, and the shoes in this show were worth the wait. These are glamorous creations in satin and jewels, and if/when they make it to the stores, I'll bet they'll be very much sought after - not just because of the shoes themselves, but because they represent a little slice of fashion history, as part of the last collection designed by the great man himself. Two more pictures after the jump...

Surely i wasn't the only one who read the headline as 'bows out of fashion' as referring to bow-ties and ribbon bows...
I really had to think for a moment, "so if bows are OUT of fashion, why are they all over Valentino's collection?? Is that why he's retiring??"
gosh...English is such a weird language!
