Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay112.jpgLast week's Yay or Nay was definitely designer, with its crazy bobble embellishments; and we're ready to announce that after heated debate, the Yays have it by a nose. If you felt that they were fit for more than just a "prawn star" (seriously, I laughed for about five minutes after reading that comment - thanks, Phoebe!) - they're Marc Jacobs, and are a whopping £305 from Net-A-Porter.

This week's offering is one of many spring styles filtering their way online, in readiness for when the sun shines on the Northern Hemisphere once more. But what do you think? Is it abstract art for your feet or feral floral? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay! So cute with a sundress... I'm ready for summer!

Hm, I'm not sure I care for these at all...
I don't really ever wear purple (I'm a carrot-top redhead and purple looks dreadful on me) and I've never liked open toe flats. The design is interesting, (I do like the floral embellishment) and if they had more of a closed toe and were in a different colour, I think I'd like them better, but as they currently sit I'd have to give them a Nay.

I like the embellishment but I hate the shape of the shoe. Super unflattering for the leg with a band across the ankle and the flat, wide base. Now, throw that sucker on a four inch heel, and perhaps then we'll talk ;) Or even a cute, retro looking kitten heel with a round toe would be nice. But the shape of the sandal is something I would never wear.

Brandi nailed it: the shape of this shoe will be unflattering to anyone except 6 foot tall models with calves the width of my wrist. i love the embellishment, but I'd look like Scary Aunt In Housedress in these.

They're cute, but I'm going with nay. I have an issue with flats since there's no arch support. My feet hurt looking at them.

Yay! They're purple lovelies. They don't look uncomfortable to me.

Nay. I would never be able to walk in shoes that flat - I'd fall over backwards. My five year old niece would wear something like this (but would obviously prefer clonking around in my heels)

Nay. My feet would never forgive me for shoes so flat and unsupportive, and I always think open toed flats look like they should be being worn with ankle socks, on a little girl.

Posted by: Amber | January 23, 2008 6:32 PM

Nay. If they had a heel it would be a possible yay, but the flatness makes them look dowdy.

Have to agree with the first few posts, these are not flattering to look at and the shape of shoes does not look flattering on. Nay for this girl.

Posted by: helena | January 23, 2008 11:33 PM

Nay. The only thing I like about them is that they're purple.

Posted by: Cherry | January 24, 2008 3:13 PM

Definitely, categorically Nay. They look like something that would be sported by the art teacher with bad breath who'd follow you down the corridor, scarves flying, trying to persuade you to pose for the life drawing class.

Or is that just me?
