New York Fashion Week Shoes: Rodarte

rodarte.jpg

These shoes from Rodarte's New York Fashion Week Show give new meaning to the phrase "killer heels" - although I'm not sure whether they'd be most lethal to the person wearing them, or to anyone who happened to get in her way! With spikes and studs covering the straps, the look is very punk/bondage, and no doubt totally impractical for everyday life! I notice these also have Louboutin-esque red heels. Rodarte used similarly spiky shoes in their Spring/Summer collection, so they're presumably hoping the look will catch on!

Eugh!

These should come with a warning- they are so dangerous and UGLY!

They look like them crabs with spikes coming out and the bobbly shell (spider crabs i think!)

Imagine the damage that woudl cause if she ever fell over.... ouch!

While I'd never wear them, they contrasted perfectly with the clothes at Rodarte.

I think they are amazingly sexy! Just look at that heel! I'm sure the spikes are toned down on the ones that will actually sell, but as far as catwalk shoes go, these are sexy, unusual, and funky. everything that catwalk shoes should be.

I love these. But do they come in black? Or anything but that metallic color. I don't care for gold and copper colors. But those are super fierce. Definitely not for every day wear, but for the brave souls out there (such as myself) they would be sweet for a fancy evening out.. :) Just watch the footsie, ha.
