Phillip Lim for Tatami shoes

The man behind popular American brand 3.1 Phillip Lim – Phillip Lim – has teamed up with Tatami to created a collection Navaho-style shoes for men and women this spring 2008. With 13 styles for women and 7 for men, the collection is made up of shoes featuring soft suede fringing, multi buckles and patent leather accents. "Tatami and 3.1 Phillip Lim are a great pair," Lim explains. "I've always worn this type of sandal growing up, so they have always been part of my life. I love the fact that they are comfortable, easy, classic and extremely versatile for all occasions. They are like the white T-shirt... Perfectly designed."

Fans of Birkenstock sandals can expect to fork out from £95 to £170 at the Birkenstock store in London's Covent Garden this March.
