Prada shoes at Milan Fashion Week - A/W 08

pradaaw08.jpg

Of all the shoes in all the shows we've seen so far in the current round of Fashion Weeks, I think Prada win the prize for "most original", don't you? Whether or not you'll actually like them, of course, is another matter altogether, but Miuccia Prada has been getting progressively more experimental with shoes lately (with very mixed results, it has to be said), with this show containing some of their most eye-catching styles to date. I absolutely love looking at these shoes, but wearing them? Probably not. I'm really curious what everyone else makes of them, though, so tell me - what's your take on Prada's Autumn/Winter 08 shoes?

I'd actually totally wear those powder blue numbers at the top right. I think they'd look fabulous with a black blazer, a black pencil skirt, and some black capr leggings. Very Eighties en vogue without the trashy element.

You have to admire the ingenuity in construction and the vision, for want of a better word, of making a shoe that looks like it's about to take flight. These are statement shoes, almost museum pieces.

Having said that, the lace up ones at bottom left just look like some dresser backstage made a terrible mistake with the heel (dropped the iron on it perhaps?) and was hoping no one would notice.

I would totally wear those shoes. And I am actually in the process of gathering funds in order to buy one of the flower heeled mary janes from the S/S collection.

I have ordered a few things through Zappos. I always have fast service. I have returned some things with no problems. I have talked to someone on the phone and they were very helpful. My latest purchase was my new Uggs! I love them. I am always searching Zappos for new items. Keep up the great service!100% premium wool fleece wicks moisture away keeping feet dry and comfortable in warm or cold climates.

The natural insulative properties of sheepskin gives thermostatic properties to the boots: the thick fleecy fibres on the inner part of the boots allow air to circulate and keep the feet at body temperature. This means that Ugg boots can be worn without socks (even in relatively cold weather).

You might be surprised to know that one of the world's dominant shoe, sports equipment and clothing brands was aptly named after the Greek goddess of victory -- and that the inspiration for the name struck during a dream. It began in 1964 with a casual agreement and a handshake between University of Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, a middle-distance runner. The pair formed Blue Ribbon Sports and began importing Japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger running shoes, known today as ASICs, for sale in the U.S.
