Yay or Nay Wednesday

yayornay114.jpgI'm rather pleased to say that our shoe-loving readers also like to take good care of their footwear! Last week's Yay or Nay offering - a foray into shoe storage - fared very well, with almost all of you voting Yay! If you loved the revolving shoe tree or the over-the-door shoe rack, they're $24.99 and $13.33, respectively, from Amazon.

This week's offering is a new release for spring - one in a long line of sandal styles that will be gracing the shelves over the next few months. But what do you think of these? Are they clunky clodhoppers or superbly springtastic? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay from me - as long as they're worn either with mini skirts/short or floor-sweeping wide-legged jeans or maxi dresses: nothing in between! Toned, muscled legs probably a must as well, as too skinny will look imbalanced,

It's a nice way to make the shoe boot trend sort of summer-appropriate.

Nay overall. I really like the wedge shape and height, but the upper is a bit too Jesus-sandally for me.

A big fat NAY from me... these are ABSOLUTELY HIDEOUS! I hate the colour, I hate the platform, I hate the big clunky wedge, and the uppers remind me of the orthopedic sandals my great-grandma used to wear. YUCK!
Nay Nay Nay!

NAY! Pretty sure the shoe would visually cut off your feet making your legs look stumpy. The heel is too chunky and the cut outs of the upper is far from graceful. The color is too dark.

It's like someone superimposed an outdated sandal onto a tree stump...

It's a great example of a wedge gone bad.

I'm going with a rather unenthusiastic yay. I like clunky/chunky/funky wedges. The dark color is fine though I'm indifferent to the upper part....yay.

Yay, i can see them with shorts too, and maxi dresses. Its kinda roman sandal-y, kinda safari, would go with alot of things this summer

Nay, nay, nay! Clumpy AND orthopaedic? How can such a monstrosity happen?!

A hesitant "Yay" with footnotes. Wear ONLY if you have well-toned legs, in particular well toned calves, not too skinny ankles, and with that dark a color, a TAN. Wear only with retro-ish shorts (for instance, a nice bright yellow pair of Dittos shorts) or mini dresses, but NOT babydolls, only something appropriately retro, like a mini flare skirt in some boho-ish print.

Hard to wear, limited to only the right build/skin tone, but on that leg, I would say it would add height and impact. On the wrong leg, however, with the wrong outfit, this would be oh so wrong.

Loving the chunky, solid wood wedge and colour but alas about the upper. The front bit is OK but the sides should be strappy rather than cutout. Reminds me a bit of Crocs (shudders).
