Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay116.jpgWell, last week's Yay or Nay was a bit of a wash-out, with even some of the 'Yays' being hesitant and unenthusiastic - and that was their words, not mine! If you were one of the few enthusiastic Yays, the 'Kario' wedges are KG by Kurt Geiger and will set you back £85.

This week's offering is a... sandal-boot; an extension of the "we'll-make-a-boot-out-of-anything" trend of the past few years. But what do you think of this particular boot offspring? Are they boot-y-licious or bloomin' bizarre? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay, I think. I really like the color and the shape, but they also remind me of something you might find for 2.50 at a thirft store.

I love them, they're modern, a bit architectural, stylish, on-trend, unconventional (I could go on). Obviously, you'd have to be a confident lady to wear these, not to mention with a bit of extra cash as these will probably go out of fashion by next season. Personally, I don't see the problem with having open-toe boots. Who's to say you can only wear boots in cold weather? And surely they're not really "boots", but sandals in the shape of boots. You obviously wouldn't wear them in winter would you. I like that there's an alternative to the boring sandal.

Nay! Unstylish, ugly, uninspiring, uncomfortable looking, um.... ugh!

  • MzStilletto

    Yuk, Nay.

Aside from the colours, there isn't a single thing I like about these shoes. I hate the fat clunky heel, I hate the open-toe boot look, and I detest thong straps on my shoes - so uncomfortable!

    NAY NAY NAY.

  • I like the idea but hate the execution. If it were a close-toed colorblock boot, I'd be all over it, but I can't see how my toes sticking out wouldn't look silly. Nay.
