I tend to shy away from low heeled wedges - especially those with ankle straps - because there can be something slightly "grandmotherly" about them. I think these ones from River Island manage to dodge any OAP associations, though, with the delicate straps and gold leather helping to give them a much "younger" look than might otherwise be the case. They're £29, and would make a nice alternative to flip flops this summer, if you're looking for shoes to wear with shorts and skirts.
