Woven peep toe low wedge shoes from River Island

I tend to shy away from low heeled wedges - especially those with ankle straps - because there can be something slightly "grandmotherly" about them. I think these ones from River Island manage to dodge any OAP associations, though, with the delicate straps and gold leather helping to give them a much "younger" look than might otherwise be the case. They're £29, and would make a nice alternative to flip flops this summer, if you're looking for shoes to wear with shorts and skirts.

Sorry, I think they are hideous. If these shoes could talk they would be saying, "I'm Edna, this is Gladys, we'll make you loom a bit 'jazzy' for bingo and we'll be kind to your bunions"
