Chanel's Gun heel from Cruise 2009

karllagerfeld_gunshoe.jpg Apparently inspired by an image of a gun, Karl Lagerfeld has used it as inspiration for Chanel's Cruise 2009 collection. One would assume he would use the image of a gun in his designs, but instead the designer gave the image to Chanel's shoe designer Laurence Decade, who made it into a heel instead. And it's not just a runway only shoe, Fashionologie are reporting that the shoe will be stocked in Chanel boutiques worldwide.

What do you think, very creative or very silly?

"What do you think, very creative or very silly?"

Why can't it be a little of both?

Damn, you would never get through an airport wearing those.

I don't understand why the gun isn't turned around as to mimic a more normal shoe silhouette. I mean it's a gun, it doesn't need extra strange juxtapositioning with the shoe to stand out.

I do however, really like this gun heel, mostly because it was made for a cruise wear line. Which just makes me think about sexy sexy people with lots of money and slicked back hair wearing gun heels on boat. Very 007.

I think it's pretty silly. Yes, very 007, but not something for the real world. I can imagine people wearing those to get into some trouble. Like the second person said- you would never get through an airport wearing those. I can imagine they might attract some unwanted attention. Are some gaudy shoes really worth it? I mean, seriously? A miniature gun model for a heel? The rest of the shoe's already bordering on stripper-esque. Why make it worse by adding a gun? Seems odd, not to mention unattractive, to me.

They're the kind of shoe that if I had that sort of money to spend frivolously, I'd buy and display on a shelf! I like them but wouldn't wear them.

I know I said you'd never get through an airport wearing those (I had to take off my flip-flops last time I went through Heathrow), but I'm actually with Crystal on this issue. I love the idea of seeing somebody wearing an elegant, probably quite conservative, cruise collection outfit and then suddenly noticing their wearing a pair of (literally) *killer heels* as they dash about in their Chanel culottes.

I'm sorry, I can't look away from the heavily made up fake Karl.
