I've always felt that chunky shoes can weigh your look down, then again I've always liked to look "light" on my feet so to speak. The key to look less weighed down is to forego the chunky wedges or platform heels (think the Spice Girls circa early 2000's) and choose something like these Rachel Comey Aster suede sandals. Slightly retro with a modern twist, the criss-cross red suede straps were adorned with triangular brass hardware, giving the shoes a bit more polish.
