What's the only thing better than a beautiful pair of Mary Janes? Five beautiful pairs of Mary Janes, of course, which is why we're giving you five whole pairs to admire on this Mary Jane Monday, rather than just one.

Take a look under the jump to see some more styles, kicking off with my favourites, these nude patent platform Mary Janes by Yves St. Laurent. Also available in black, they have a crescent toe and delicate stiletto heel. They're absolutely gorgeous, which is why it should come as no surprise that they cost $595...

Proving just how much variety you can get in Mary Janes, Dune's 'Kim' is completely different from the YSL shoe above. This is a thoroughly modern MJ, with a thick elastic strap and pretty floral print uppers. These would be gorgeous with an a-line skirt or sundress on a picnic, at a barbecue or for some other kind of summer event. They're £24, reduced from £35.

Another modern take on the Mary-Jane, Irregular Choice's red patent peep toes have a stylised shape, which gives them a kind of futuristic Alice in Wonderland look, when teamed with that red patent leather. They're unusual, but not so much so that you'd have trouble working out what to wear them with.

Sometimes, of course, you just want to go for a completely classic look, and Kate Spade's 'Katie' pumps will give you just that, with their black patent finish and narrow strap. They're $295.

Finally, some designer Mary Jane style, at a not-so-designer price. These are Type Z's 'Tiera' peep toes, and while I'm drawn to the high heel, croc-print uppers and cute button straps, I'm even more drawn to the price, which is $110 - not bad for a shoe that'll take you from work to wherever else you want it to...
