Wearable art? Gavin Douglas platform sandals

GavinDouglas441205051I_2.jpg Gavin Douglas' bio on Yoox says that he's a label is for women who wish to express their individuality though clothing, and boy are these platform sandals created with a specific woman in mind. Made from suede and laminated leather, these purple sandals feature a 15.5cm heel (that's over 6"!!) with everything from blue laced detail, cut outs, blue suede colourblocking and a platform. Retailing at US$2,045.59 I can't decide if these shoes are art, or a shoe you can wear more than once. Rather, they remind me of a shoe that belongs in a museum. What do you think?
