Christian Louboutin's wedge ankle boots

Ankle boots are a winter staple, but leave it to Christian Louboutin to try something just a little bit different. His wooden soled wedge ankle boots have a little cut-out detail in the back, which I somehow find myself wanting to describe as "cute", even although it's hard to imagine how a lump of wood could ever really be "cute". Still, it's a detail that sets these apart from the legions of other wedge boots we'll be seeing this season, and it's that, plus the Christian Louboutin name, of course, that justifies the $995 price.
