There are so many great pairs of boots around at the moment that I could quite easily spend a small fortune on boots alone, if I was so inclined. In the ankle boot stakes, these Ash Leo boots from Urban Outfitters are currently making me drool - they have a bit of a Victorian feel about them which makes them prim-yet-sexy, and I love the cone heel and hidden platform, which makes them look impossibly high. They're £165 but the combination of wooden heel and leather uppers should make them last for years, so you can always view them as an investment...
