It's amazing what a bit of ribbon can do to make a shoe look more attractive - to me, at least. With a normal lace, shoe boots can look a little plain (even ones like these, in shiny black patent), but the ribbon adds a feminine touch and makes me suddenly more likely to buy them.
These are in the now-familiar shoe-boot shape, and if there's anyone out there who hasn't yet succumbed to this trend, these are £40 from Miss Selfridge and are slimline enough to be worn with both dresses and trousers/jeans.
