I love it when designers do something really simple to make a shoe stand out. Take these red patent wedges by Miu Miu, for instance. On paper, they don't sound like anything special, but the shape of the heel, and the way it creates a fan shape, somehow makes them look extra special. There's something very sleek, and just a little bit futuristic about them, and at £290, they're not too excessively priced either, especially for a label like Miu Miu.
