After all the recent discussion in the media about the trend for super-high heels and the negative effects they can have on women's feet, a new study into the real risks of wearing heels is about to be undertaken. The Telegraph reports that scientists will examine women aged 20 to 50 who regularly wear stilettos, and compare how different types of footwear influence how they walk. The wearer's legs will be scanned using ultrasound and MRI equipment and the changes researched. British women reportedly spent £30million in corrective foot surgery last year, to fix the damage caused by heels.
